Camillo Companies announced today that it and its affiliate brands, Legend Homes and SimplyHome, were named Top Workplaces in the Houston Chronicle's 2024 list. This honor marks the first year Camillo Companies made the list, and it is the sixth and fourth consecutive year for Legend Homes and SimplyHome, respectively.

Each year, the Houston Chronicle partners with data insights firm Energage to survey employees working for organizations in the metropolitan area. Workers evaluate companies' culture, benefits, leadership style, environment, and other key factors. Organizations with the highest scores make the Top Workplaces list. The Houston Chronicle announced winners during a special ceremony on Nov. 7, 2024. 

This year marks a first for Camillo Companies. The vertically integrated operation consists of four primary entities: Legend Homes, SimplyHome, Academy Development, and LCI Services. Since its founding in 1989, Camillo Companies has grown from a small startup with 13 employees to one of the country's largest private homebuilders and build-to-rent operators, employing more than 450 people across Texas and Oklahoma. 

Legend Homes is a critical component of Camillo Companies' retail business, having sold more than 20,000 homes since its launch in 1991. The 2024 Top Workplaces accolade marks Legend Homes' sixth straight year on the list. In March 2024, USA Today recognized Legend Homes as one of the Top Workplaces in the country.

In 2024, SimplyHome opened a new rental home community outside Oklahoma City, marking the company's highly anticipated expansion beyond Texas and into neighboring Oklahoma.
